Ekrani i Artit is a non-competitive festival held in Shkodër, Albania, now reaching its eighth edition (18–22 June).
The edition Postcards from Elsewhere envisions cinema as a means of connection—a bridge between the seen and unseen, the known and unknown, the familiar and the extraordinary.
Inspired by the poetic idea of films as “postcards” from the places where they are created, this edition invites audiences to journey into alternative futures, possible utopias, and new horizons. Much like a postcard, a film captures a moment in time, a glimpse of another reality, and sends it out into the world to be shared, cherished, and remembered.
Through this lens, we aim to celebrate cinema’s power to make the invisible visible. Every story, every frame, every location carries with it a trace of human experience—turning distant landscapes into vivid memories and speculative worlds into tangible possibilities.
Postcards from Elsewhere also carries an emotional resonance, emphasizing relationships, the exchange of ideas, and the human longing for connection. These are values we believe resonate deeply with both our audiences and our partners.
