Chiaralice Rizzi and Alessandro Laita studied Visual Arts at IUAV in Venice. From 2010 until 2015 they worked in the same Faculty as Lewis Baltz and Adrian Paci teaching assistants. Their practice develops around the thematic of landscape, memory and representation, investigating the possibilities enclosed in the “things” that define and maintain the world available and always unknown by approaching the place where names and things come together and open up the potential of our shared present. Their work situate itself in the reflection of the observed phenomena challenging the idea of photography as a certainty. In 2016 they have been awarded of the Lewis Baltz Research Fund and published their first book with MACK (London). They have been recipients of scholarships and artists residencies in Venice (Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa – Italy), Winterthur (Villa Straüli – Switzerland), YADDO (Saratoga Springs – U.S.), Citè Internationale des Arts (Paris – France). They live and work between Milan and Venice.
